New Commercial Pool Construction: Stainless Steel and Precast Pool Systems for Your Project Team

On a commercial pool construction project, RenoSys supplies and installs the pool system: the shell, gutters, grating, and PVC membrane. That work sits inside a project led by the general contractor or pool contractor. Site work and excavation stay with the GC, and RenoSys installs only what it manufactures, coordinated with your schedule.

RenoSys has supported commercial aquatic projects since 1987. It manufactures stainless steel, precast concrete, and PVC pool components in the USA at its Indianapolis facility.

What Does RenoSys Provide on a New Commercial Pool Project?

RenoSys provides a manufactured pool system and the crews to install it. Owners, architects, and contractors can specify the complete system or individual components. New pools are installed with a 20-year structural warranty. The PVC Pool Shell interior carries a 10-year warranty.

Who Handles What on a Commercial Pool Build?

RenoSys works as a specialized subcontractor. The table below shows the typical division of scope. The final split for each project is confirmed in the proposal and contract documents. Keeping these boundaries in writing from the start helps prevent the field-fit disputes and change orders that happen when pool responsibilities are loosely divided.

How Does a Manufactured Pool System Help the Project Schedule?

Manufactured pool systems move much of the pool’s production off the site. Pool walls and gutters are fabricated in a factory while the GC completes excavation and underground work. The pool system arrives ready to install when the site is ready to receive it.

  • Less weather exposure. Stainless steel walls are fabricated indoors, and precast walls are cast in a factory, so fewer steps depend on site weather.
  • Fewer buried pipes. RenoSys integral gutters combine the gutter trough with pressurized return inlets. This removes much of the buried return piping, which reduces maintenance over the life of the pool.
  • No plaster cure or replastering cycle. A PVC Pool Shell interior is heat-welded in place and is ready for water without plaster curing.

One accountable source for the pool system. The company that manufactures the walls, gutters, and interior also installs and tests them.

Which Pool System Fits Your Project?

The right system depends on the site, the program, and the budget. RenoSys manufactures more than one type, so the recommendation follows the project.

  • Stainless steel suits elevated and rooftop pools, competition pools, and projects where light weight or fabrication precision matter most. See rooftop pool construction.
  • Precast concrete suits in-ground public and competition pools where factory-cast walls and a PVC interior are a good fit.
  • Competition pools in either material include custom wave-capturing gutters and can be engineered for an optional moving bulkhead. See competition pools.
  • Spas and cold plunges in stainless steel pair with pools at hotels, clubs, and training facilities. See commercial cold plunge spas.

Designed to Code and ADA Requirements

RenoSys designs its pool systems to meet local health codes and installs equipment to support ADA compliance. Under the 2010 ADA Standards, pools with more than 300 linear feet of pool wall need at least two accessible means of entry. The primary means of entry must be a sloped entry or a pool lift. These requirements are worth planning into the pool layout during design rather than fitting them in later.

How to Bring RenoSys Into Your Project

Most projects involve RenoSys during design development or bidding.

  • Share the drawings. Send architectural drawings, specifications, or bid documents.
  • Receive a budgetary proposal. RenoSys provides free budgetary proposals, with a site visit and project report available when more detail is needed.
  • Coordinate submittals. RenoSys prepares shop drawings and product data for the design team’s review.
  • Schedule installation. RenoSys fabricates in parallel with site work and mobilizes when the site is ready.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is RenoSys a general contractor?
No. RenoSys is a manufacturer and installer of commercial pool systems. It does not perform excavation, site work, or general construction. On new pool projects, RenoSys typically works as a specialized subcontractor under the general contractor or pool contractor. It installs the pool walls, gutters, grating, and interior it manufactures.
What is the difference between stainless steel and precast concrete pool walls?
Stainless steel walls are fabricated in a shop and welded on site. They are lighter and suited to elevated sites. Precast concrete walls are cast in a factory and set on site, and they are typically used for in-ground public and competition pools. RenoSys manufactures both, and either can be finished with the 60-mil PVC Pool Shell.
What warranties apply to a new RenoSys pool?
New RenoSys pools are installed with a 20-year structural warranty. The RenoSys PVC Pool Shell interior comes with a 10-year warranty. Specific warranty terms are confirmed in each project proposal.
Can RenoSys systems be used to renovate an existing pool?
Yes. The same PVC Pool Shell, gutter, grating, and deck systems used in new construction are widely used to renovate existing commercial pools. RenoSys can also extend an existing pool with new bodies of water, such as dive wells and zero-depth entries. See commercial pool renovation.
