OLIV Apartments, a premier luxury residential community in Madison, WI, recently introduced a stunning rooftop pool as part of its high-end amenities. Designed to provide residents with a resort-style experience, the rooftop features breathtaking city views, a sundeck, outdoor grilling stations, fire pits, and lounge seating for social gatherings.
For this new build, led by Badger Swim Pools, PoolEquip—RenoSys’s sister company—sourced, prepped, and supplied completely custom-cut and fabricated granite grating to enhance both the aesthetic and functional aspects of the pool perimeter. The premium-grade granite was chosen not only for its durability and slip resistance but also for its visual consistency—every piece was sourced from the same pool of cut granite to ensure a seamless, uniform appearance across the entire installation.

Through seamless collaboration, the final installation met the highest standards of luxury and safety, ensuring OLIV Apartments residents enjoy a visually striking and long-lasting aquatic space.

Challenges:

One of the primary challenges in this project was the custom fabrication of the granite grating. Each piece had to be precision-cut and fabricated to match the unique design specifications of the rooftop pool perimeter. The granite needed to seamlessly integrate with the surrounding materials while maintaining the high-end aesthetic that OLIV Apartments is known for.

Logistics and coordination also played a crucial role, as the project was situated in a high-rise location. Delivering and staging materials efficiently required careful planning to align with Badger Swim Pools’ construction schedule. Ensuring the timely arrival of the prepped and cut granite pieces was essential to keeping the installation on track.

Maintaining aesthetic consistency was another key consideration. To achieve a seamless look, PoolEquip sourced all the granite from the same pool of cut stone, ensuring a perfect match in color, texture, and finish. This attention to detail helped create a high-end, polished appearance that enhances the overall visual appeal of the rooftop pool.
