As one of the most heavily used aquatic facilities in Oregon, this aquatic center plays a vital role in delivering year-round swim instruction, wellness programs, and family recreation. When the main pool’s surface began to show signs of aging and water loss, facility officials turned to RenoSys for a long-term solution that would restore performance and minimize future maintenance.

This aquatic center in Oregon is a year-round indoor facility operated by a municipal parks and recreation department. The facility includes:

  • A lap pool and warm water therapy pool
  • A recreational water slide, spa, and sauna
  • Fitness classes, swim instruction, and open swim hours

Thousands of residents use the center annually for swim lessons, rehabilitation, and family recreation. To address aging infrastructure and preserve the facility’s long-term viability, the municipality contracted RenoSys to replace the pool’s existing PVC membrane.

The project included:

  • Full removal of the original liner
  • Installation of a new 60 mil commercial-grade PVC membrane
  • Shell preparation and drainage system checks
  • Work scheduling coordinated around ongoing programming

The goal was to restore watertight integrity, enhance surface safety, and reduce long-term maintenance requirements—without requiring an extended facility closure.

Challenges:

Executing the renovation in a high-traffic, fully operational community facility required careful planning and on-site flexibility. Key challenges included:

  • Live scheduling: Live scheduling: Crews worked in off-hours and phased windows to avoid disrupting programming
  • Moisture conditions: Interior humidity and fall weather affected welding and curing timelines
  • Legacy repairs: The aging shell required localized fixes to support proper membrane adhesion and drainage performance
